I found it quite intimidating by looking at what it takes to rent a London flat. I knew that London was huge but did not realize that it is really lots of little town areas all with their own flavor and feel. The mix of people and cultures can be overwhelming when one is not expecting it. Not knowing London at all, I do not know what area I would feel at home in. How do you know where to look for a place to rent when you do not have any experience or exposure to an area or its micro-culture?

There are so many different nuances from street to street, town area to town area. London offers so much in history, museums, parks, recreational sites and entertainment. What place is the best place to enjoy it all, to immerse oneself into the culture of London? There is just so much available and a lot of diversity. You could live in London and do something different everyday for years if you wanted to. Where does one rent a flat in London that gives them access to everything?

London looks like a wonderful and exciting place to live. However, where would be a good place to call home? I understand that shared flat rentals are a very popular way of finding affordable rents. Private flats by the transit system can cost a pretty penny but are worth renting if you can afford it. Everything is controlled by cost and demand. It must be easy to know where you want to live in London if you are from London, another thing to find a place available.

The best option for someone outside of London is to get a property dealer to help find a London property for rent. A property dealer would be in London and know the different places and should be able to provide some insight to each area. Using an agent to find the right rental property makes it much less intimidating. You know that a property dealer is going to spend the time looking for the right place for you and let you know about any issues ahead of time. This way there is less chance of finding that you are renting a flat beside an all night dance club or above a fresh fish shop. It is still best to check out the place before you sign anything no matter how much you trust your property dealer.
