London housing in short supply

London housing is in short supply, expensive and quickly snapped up. The fact that so many London flat rentals are shared units is not surprising.

London housing is in short supply, expensive and quickly snapped up. The fact that so many London flat rentals are shared units is not surprising. At the same time, a private flat is more often sought after, as the flats are close to the transit system. Everyone is talking about fixes for the housing shortage, ways to provide more places to live at prices that people can afford. It is understandable that people with spare rooms in their homes are renting them out.

Even with all the plans being formed, it is going to take some time before buildings can be built and some type of relief is felt. People who have lucked out with their London flat rentals are not likely to give up their prime rental location if they can help it. Therefore, it is very difficult to find flats for rent in London's prime areas. Most people find that they have to move into locations with less access to the transit system simply because that is all that is available within their budget. Therefore, it becomes a balance between saving money on rent or on travel. Where you live depends of what is available and at what price.

If you are looking for London properties for rent in a prim area then expect to pay the price. There are no deals to be found because too many people are looking for a place to live. Things may change as the years go by but for now, it is almost the survival of the fittest. Those who can afford the good locations get them and those who cannot move to places they can afford. There are solutions but they take time and money. Eventually, there will be more London flats for rent simply because more have been built. However, can the flats be built fast enough to keep up with the demand? It is going to be interesting on how to keep the green areas and still provide enough housing as more and more people move into London.

More homes will come down to be replaced with high-rises', it is better to build up to provide homes then it is to destroy the green areas to make more homes. More and more people will rent and fewer people will own homes within the London. History shows us that things change with time but people will always need a place to call home, to live and belong even if it is a flat and not a house.
